The competition brief was to solve the neuralgic traffic roundabout with 7 streets in the very centre of Belgrade with trams, trolleys, buses and cars, with a spider net of underground installations. The proposed solution was awarded because it solved the problem in the shortest way and had the easiest orientation. The newly designed fountain in the middle of the square has its entrance from the main pedestrian underground passage and has an artificial waterfall through the main staircase void.
